Working with Universities
We provide a variety of expertise to universities and other further educational or research institutions.

Kew welcomes students from undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the UK and abroad providing opportunities to learn about the significance of Kew’s scientific work.
Educational visits
Students studying topics related to plant and fungal science, evolution, ecology, conservation and restoration are invited to explore the valuable collections we hold and learn about research at Kew.
Talks and tours are offered at both our Kew Gardens and Wakehurst sites. Talks are organised based on your course, modules and interests, which align with Kew’s work. At Kew Gardens, tours of the Herbarium, Fungarium, laboratories, Economic Botany collection, public and behind-the-scenes gardens and glasshouses are available. At Wakehurst, tours of the gardens and Millennium Seed Bank are available.
If you would like more information and want to enquire about a university visit, please email: sciencetraining@kew.org
As an alternative to the staff-led talks and tours, Kew offers the opportunity for educational groups to gain access to the public gardens and glasshouses on self-guided tours for a reduced fee. This booking is made through Kew’s Schools Team. For more information and booking, please see the school visits page.
